“Chinese official media headed up with a statement that increasing labour costs in the country may diverge foreign investors towards India.”
The hike in labour costs and strict environment regulations in China are pushing away foreign investors, making India as a more desirable destination. The Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to Europe, aiming to generate investors’ interest, might also add to the threat of Chinese officials. The inauguration of the famous engineering fair, Hannover Messe, where India is also a partner, was a part of the visit targeted towards his ambitious project, “Make in India”. The widespread use of English in India also gives an advantage to the investors.
